Job Description:
The Digital Transformation and Technology role provides hands‑on technical expertise for improving the organisation’s digital systems and data to support effective service delivery and internal operations. Working collaboratively to synergise Service Transformation and IT Operations with teams across different departments, the role translates organisation’s goals and strategic thrusts into practical technical solutions, such as data flows, integrations and automations, ensuring that solutions are sustainable and fit for everyday use.
Responsibilities:
- Design and support practical technical solutions to meet identified digital and data needs, contributing hands-on technical work and light development where necessary.
- Design and improve data structure, flow, consistency and quality to support reporting, insights and data use across systems.
- Oversee web development projects; including coordinating with vendors and volunteers to develop the organisation’s website layout, design and content in accordance with Focus’ brand and orthodoxy.
- Identify and improve work processes across the organisation through building integrations and automations.
- Keep abreast of relevant technologies to recommend appropriate and practical improvements and innovation to the organisation’s digital systems.
- Collaborate with IT Operations to review existing systems to identify technical improvements that enhance usability and efficiency.
- Provide technical advice on Service Transformation initiatives and solutions, in areas such as technical feasibility, risks, constraints or dependencies.
- Undertake any other projects and activities as directed by CEO and/or COO.
Requirements:
- Minimally a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a technology-related field
- Minimally 6 years of relevant experience in a technology, systems, or digital role, with demonstrated ability to synergise organisation growth with technical implementation
- Strong experience in working with data structures, data flows and data quality, including integrating or moving data between systems
- Hands-on experience with system configuration, scripting, light development or building automations and integrations.
- Able to work effectively in resource‑constrained environments, prioritising and adapting technical solutions to balance resource management, usability, and long‑term sustainability
- Highly collaborative and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment
