Dhevani Ramachandran is a Counselling Associate with over 11 years of experience in the Singapore Prison Service, working with diverse client profiles in high-stress and complex environments. She has worked closely with individuals with histories of trauma, grief and loss, relational distress, and long-standing patterns of emotional and behavioural difficulty. She is particularly interested in understanding individuals for who they are, their inner worlds and relationships, and how therapy can support a more compassionate and hopeful understanding of self.
Dhevani is currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health and Psychotherapy at the National University of Singapore. Her clinical practice is informed by evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. She draws on these approaches flexibly to help clients recognise and challenge unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour, strengthen motivation and confidence to make meaningful changes, identify practical steps aligned with their values and hopes, and reshape the stories they hold about themselves, their relationships, and their futures.
She takes a systemic perspective in her work with individuals, paying close attention to the family, community, and organisational contexts they are embedded in, and how these contexts influence choices, actions, and possibilities for change. Beyond individual work, she has a strong interest in working with families and children.
She brings warmth, gentleness, and a collaborative approach to her clinical work, creating a safe and steady space where every person's story is heard and treated with care and respect. She is committed to supporting clients towards safer, more hopeful ways of living and relating.
Dhevani practises under the supervision of [Dr. Jared Tan, PsyD] as part of her commitment to professional excellence.
