Where relevant, Jared enjoys addressing parent-child relationships to build protective social support factors that enhance mental resilience and increase the likelihood of recovery for individuals.
As a Hope-Focused Couple Therapy Supervisor, Jared’s approach to couples therapy is integrative and strategic, incorporating emotion-focused elements to address expectations, communication, conflict resolution, and forgiveness within the marriage, utilising evidence-based interventions to restore relational health. As a psychologist, Jared has experience intervening in marriages with co-morbid attentional/cognitive, mental, physical health concerns, and relational trauma such as infidelity.
In addition to his clinical work, Jared is passionate about preventive research that enhances the relational health and forgiveness of marriages through autonomous motivation, with the potential to increase marital stability and lower divorce rates. Jared also provides supervision and training to other mental health professionals and M.A. (Counselling) students and offers mental health training and consultation to various organisations. Previously, he worked as an MOE educator, spearheading school-wide efforts to nurture youth leaders holistically through a tiered approach.
